Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2 Movie - Pickles to Pittsburgh

Update 2 - March 1, 2012: The official title of the sequel is Cloudy 2 Revenge of the leftovers.

Update 1 - July 5, 2011: Screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will write the script Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2. The film will be based on a new original story, not on Pickles to Pittsburgh.


The 2009 animated movie Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs performed quite well in theaters: it grossed more than $243 million worldwide for a budget a $100 million production budget. So one can understand why Sony Pictures is considering a sequel. Yep get ready for Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2, or rather Pickles to Pittsburgh. The film will indeed be based on "Pickles to Pittsburgh" the sequel written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett.

From what I heard Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller won't helm the movie sequel. But we may hope the same voice cast to be back.

Here's the plot of the graphic novel "Pickles to Pittsburgh":

Plot:
"The townspeople who fled when the delectable weather got out of control have returned for an industrious clean-up operation. They take the bountiful harvest and transport it to all parts of the world: Eggplants to Ecuador, Chili to Chile, Pickles to Pittsburgh... ending poverty and starvation worldwide."
